First post of the new year! Happy new year to all of us!! This year is gonna be a year full of new experiences for both V and I: V going for a partial exchange to SMU and me taking an LOA for internship. Being such introverts, both of us feels a lil uncomfortable getting out of our comfort zone and having to meet new people. But at the same time, I feel excited for both of us as these new challenges will provide as with an interesting year ahead! :D
V started her journey one week ahead of me and had already had the first taste of seminars in her new school in town and the experience thus far had helped her appreciate NUS even more XD. Same as what i felt when i was on exchange in London HAHA. Oh wells hang in there dearie, enjoy your time as an exchange student and dont get too stressed up ya! <3
As the semester in NUS had not yet started, it was kind of the last week of our holidays together this December and we were cherishing all the time we had together before our busy sem begins!
On the day Eunice flew off for her SEP, V and I decided to visit the east side for some shopping as her flight was at midnight. Also this means food from the east and in particular:
Sake sushi buffet! It's been so long since I've visited them that the menu looks so foreign to me :p we were so full after the meal that we wanted to walk to the airport! XD We have been to so many shopping centers recently that they all seemed similar to us with the same few anchor shops like topman, forever 21 etc etc. Singapore needs more interesting shops around!
On our 15th monthsary, we went for a Toy 21st party!! Fun day out at a ulu part of singapore keke
Hello from HK! Don't we look like we are not in Singapore?? kekeke just kidding, we were just having dinner at some shanghai HK eatery in Vivocity on new year day. It's been so long since we traveled together dearie! Time to do it again soon!!
we went cathay the next day to watch American Hustle, a movie to this date we have no idea what it is about. watched it cuz batman and Jenifer Lawrence were inside so we assumed that it was good but apparently not hahaha! Anw before that we were at aston for dinner where i ordered fried chicken while V ate her all time fave fish n chip keke. The first chicken that came for me was so disappointingly burnt(left photo) that i had to request for another one. Luckily the second one that came (right) is so much better! kekeke :p
Grub for lunch with family :D my very first time trying yum yum its so yummy!
Breakfast at amk hub before we went for a school tour! SMU is such a small school that both of us met our only SMU friends around while we are there hahaha! V managed to connect her laptop to the school network before her school started the very next day :)
V ended her class early on thurs and we decided to make a visit to chinatown to breathe in some CNY spirit! so excited to see all the CNY goodies around! better diet first before cny so that i can eat more then! such a glutton kekee :p
we covered the streets pretty quickly in the afternoon as most of the shops were not opened yet so we decided to hide in one of the inde cafe around south bridge road: the loft. Not sure if we are lucky or what, but the shop seemed to be run by a group of weird people while the owner was not around. Weird uncle who was busy using his com and drowning himself in excel sheet, weird and young chef who needs to discuss with weird uncle on how to decorate our waffle and a weird waitress who was overly friendly to everyone. V concluded that it was a weird week for her with all the weird encounters in school as well XD
We had initially ordered a brownie fondue and were pretty excited and were looking forward to dipping some hot chocolate. However when it came, the chocolate was cold and the candle couldn't warm the chocolate up. V asked them about it and apparently the original hot chocolate was modified to using chocolate syrup which is not supposed to be warmed by the candle. sensing our dissatisfaction, the weird uncle offered to exchange it to a waffle for us and they simply recycled the ingredients for the fondue on the waffle LOL. #okcan
We were in town yesterday as i suggested to watch the wolf of wallstreet, but the timing for the show was bad and hence we decided to forgo the movie for some food!! Our fave udon place in taka hehe! V had her usual niku udon while i tried out some cold udon. yummers!
Following which we had some mago shaving in Ion at a shop that V's mom said was good! shhh not supposed to tell her we came here since we didnt dabao for her oopsie! Sorry auntie! :p
V bought me Auntie Anne's pretzel which wasn't my fave snack as it tasted too doughy for my liking! keke at least i enjoyed watching her savouring the pretz :D
Its a start of a new week tmr where school is officially starting for V and work is starting for me! I'm suddenly so jittery with so many uncertainty ahead. Hope everything will go smoothly for me tmr! My sweetest ever girlfriend even made a card for me to encourage me for this internship aww heart melts. Love you so much sweetie and hope everything will go smoothly for you this semester too! <3
