Zootastic

Hello! Finally got the time to blog about our Singapore Zoo visit approximately two weeks ago, time passes way too quickly these days. We decided to visit the Zoo in the month of July because it's their birthday month - 40 years old and hence a 40% discount on admission tickets for Singapore Citizens - perfect for us :D

In the morning, R and I met at the AMK garden Macdonald's for breakfast, delicious hotcakes woohoos. It was raining in the morning so we took our time to eat breakfast, and even queued for the Despicable Me 2 Happy Meal toys at 11am, so we got ourselves some minions and dabao-ed 8 nuggets for lunch later. However after eating/queuing the rain still did not stop and we couldn't decide whether to still head to the zoo on a rainy day or not :( Boarded the bus anyway and arrived at the zoo around noon.

The first animal we saw - Cotton top Tamarin - speed like lightning! Tried to snap a picture of it several times and all of them are blur, give up. It's really tiny though, compare its size with the orange!

Noisiest bunch.

Then we went to watch the Ah Meng show hehehe, R loves Orang Utans

Meerkats!

Entered the proboscis monkey's den and snapped this picture!

R and a huge ass crocodile right behind. No idea why the giant malayan river terrapin isn't seen where he's supposed to be :O Do crocodiles eat terrapins?

My best animal shot that day!!!

Then went for the elephant show!

Polar Bear ~

Got ourselves some nachos while waiting for our splash safari show to start

Sealion! LOVE it so cute and intelligent *claps claps* *shy covers face*

Then it was time to leave Singapore Zoo, almost 6pm!

Had a really fun day out at the Singapore Zoo with R :) It was especially interesting for me because it has been at least 10 years since I last visited the Zoo. The animal shows have been impressive, the animals are all so well-trained and capable!

R brought me to try Ampang YTF after visiting the zoo, I thought the ytf was so so only! :p but the two persons portion is really huge. Was so stuffed after dinner. Went to Thomson Plaza for a while after then headed home *frowns*

from bishan to town

time to clear backlogs again:

Thursday 11/07 - Went over to V's house supposedly to help her tidy up her room, but ended up nuaing and watching tv haha. It's the first time I met V's mother even though we have spoken on whatsapp and skype for a few times before hehe. Was starving when I reached their house as I've only had koko krunch for breakie and cereals never fills up my tummy :p Luckily for me there were endless supply of food in their house omnomnom hehe.
V was looking through a brochure from bugis junction the day before and it seemed that there were many shops newly opened. We wanted to head down to bugis to have our lunch at Itacho but the weather took a turn for the worse and started to pour heavily boohoo. Her mom decided to cook us lunch since we were stuck at home yay porridge for the cold day! Headed down to Bugis once the rain stopped to gai gai and wait for our stomachs to digest our lunch so we can fill them with more food hehe. Finally found a pair of loafers that I really like after looking for it since I'm back from Europe whee! Settled at Swensens with the initial plan of only ordering the creamy mushroom soup but the happy hour deal tempted us to get one sundaes each ahhhh. we were so full that we couldn't eat our Itacho afterwards :p Happy meal nonetheless!

Friday 12/07 - Ramen craving day!! Our previous plan to try the orchid hotel ramen didn't work out as planned but we found out that they have another outlet in Bugis! so back to Bugis second day in the row hehe. We were lucky to reach Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu Four Seasons at 2.15pm as their last order was at 2.30pm :p The ramen were grouped into the four seasons and we just have to choose which season we wanted to try heh.

Complimentary hard boiled eggs and preserved bean sprouts! love the sesame seed grinding bowl so fun!

Happy V with her bowl of Autumn ramen

Shopping at bugis street after lunch! Never knew Bugis has so much stuff to shop hehe

Sunday 14/07 - family day on sundate!! hehe we met up for lunch at orchard central as V had been telling me for the longest time how yummy quiznos is and finally decided to bring me to try it. WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING OUT ON! Subway move aside please haha. Quiznos might be slightly more expensive than subway but it tastes so much nicer!

look at how the cheese is melted onto the tomatoes ahh so yums!! their broccoli soup is awesome too!

Look look we are back in Europe!!

me with my new pair of shoes! so happy!!
strolled to plaza sing after lunch cuz there is nothing much to shop in orchard central xp

Remembered quan yi feng was eating this on ch8 variety show and knew straight away that i have to bring my dear to Nana's green tea to try it out. Didn't disappoint me indeed omnom. Green tea never goes wrong in dessert heh :D
We got bored of ps pretty soon and guess where we headed to next!

Ion!! walked from one end of orchard to the other end hehe. Back to our favorite activity in Singapore: taking long walks!

Settled our Itacho craving before the week ends yay!! It was my first time trying their sushi and it tasted so nice! Try them if you haven't!

Heartlanders

Hi hi we are back again to clear backlogs :p Been spending lots of quality time together with my dearest this summer holiday, feeling so blissful teehee :D It had been raining quite frequently for the past week but the gloomy weather can't stop the two love birds from meeting up!!

Recap of past events:

Monday - The two of us were pigging at home (as usual) when V had the craving for melona ice-cream that had not been satisfied since the previous week. Armed with an insulator bag and ice pack, we decided to meet at AMK Hub to purchase the ice-cream from Fairprice Extra as the NTUC in J8 doesn't sell it. Buying the ice-cream was of course an excuse for the both of us to meet up ;p so we took our time to walk around the mall before heading to the supermarket to buy the ice-cream. V bought all three flavors available at the supermarket as she couldn't decide on which flavor to buy and all of them looked so yummy (tasted yummy too)! Ahhh we overestimated the size of the insulator bag which ended up only being able to contain only two of the three boxes of ice-cream. The strawberry flavored box was left without ice pack and we thought that under the cold rainy weather it will not melt so easily. Wronggg choice the ice-cream melted hahaha we still went to best denki at j8 to look for al's prezzie ._.  oh wells at least V still had the other two boxes to satisfy her craving :D

Tuesday - It was raining again the next day and V suggested Nakhon Kitchen in Hougang for lunch. What an awesome suggestion!! Spicy thai food for the cold weather yumms. I was told the queue for their food is usually very long but we were lucky to be first in the line when we reached hehe. Probably cuz it was raining quite heavily that day :p

Hungry couple hehe

 Pandan Chicken!

Phad thai!

Tom yum soup!

After the sumptuous lunch, we headed down to one of the heartland mall which i have not explored before: Hougang mall. We were not able to get the mango sticky rice as our dessert at Nakhon which gave us the feeling that our meal had not end off perfectly hahaha. Got a strawberry shortcake from fourleaves to close our lunch! Walked around the mall after that and was amazed by how beautifully preserved the mall is without the infiltration from all the large anchor tenants that made the malls in Singapore so homogenous nowadays. It was like a trip down the memory lane there; we could find our childhood toys, biscuits in the metal tins and shops that V frequent during her sec school days. Na xie nian de hui yi hahaha. Ended off the day with a sweet drink from Woobbee bubble tea stall teehee. A date out in Singapore's heartland neighbourhood can be fun too! :D

Group Rangers

Harrow!!! We're starting to accumulate backlogs of posts, been having frequent dates out with the boy since it's still the holidays and just no time/too lazy to blog as frequently. Here's how we spent our last weekend together ^^

Met R early early and we went over to tanjong pagar!

All excited to explore the area!

Headed to a relatively new mall - 100 AM, realised that we've visited a few new malls recently :) However, this mall is pretty small and actually nothing much to shop for (either that, or we went too early the shops weren't fully opened) so the novelty wore off really fast and we left the mall.

Initially wanted to try the well-famed ramen store at Orchid Hotel! However, the restaurant wasn't opened yet and we didn't want to wait 30 minutes just for it to start business. MUST SATISFY HUNGER ASAP. So I proposed going to Group Therapy just along Craig Road. The previous time I visited with Pauline we tried their dessert! And I was tempted by their savoury dishes, so this time round R accompanied me to try their all day breakfast/mains menu, yay!!

We sat at a corner separated from the main crowd of diners that morning, teehee like a special reserved area just for us! :B

Food arrived! I ordered the Poached egg, served with smoked salmon on thick toast, recommend!!! Very nice hehehe

Here's what the boy ordered: Shepherd's Pie, served with salad and chips! Also yummy but I think if you eat the whole thing, will feel jerlat.

But we still had a great brunch yippie mood lifter. But a CBD area on a Sunday afternoon = almost dead town. We soon got bored of Tanjong Pagar, and headed to Orchard!

Basically just stayed at Ion for a brief period of time, had some coffee from Killiney:

I had yuan yang (coffee mixed with tea) and R had coffee!

Walked over to Taka for a while, got a headache from the crowd at Taka Food Fest that's on-going. Then after that my dearest boyfee suggested going to Great World City because it is definitely less crowded there, so off we go to take a direct bus there!

Indeed felt more comfortable being in a less crowded environment :)

Spontaneous decision to catch a movie : The Lone Ranger!
Hehehe we liked the movie, mainly because Johnny Depp is in there hahaha ^^ But the show is pretty long so remember to pee before the movie!!

After the movie, we went to the nearby Zion Food Centre for our dinner, yummy yum tums! Had chicken wings, carrot cakes, ice kachang! R sent me home after dinner, happy Sundate :D

Minions

Aloha! I'm back to fill this space with more pictures! Of pretty girls teehee *looks at picture below*

Went over to SJ's house early on Friday Morning to surprise the lady for her 21st!

Happy birthday! :)

Chilled at her place till noon, then we headed out! Decided to go to Crescent to have lunch, with Sam and Jialing, and R came along because I initially had lunch plans with him! So in the end he had lunch together with some of my bestest girlfriends at my favorite school on earth :D

Camwhored at E & F block after lunch!

The boy in a girls' school mmm.

Then we headed to Tiong Bahru Plaza for some minions-time!!!

DESPICABLE ME 2
!!!!

the minions are all oh so cute wheee :)

After the movie, Jialing and Sam went off! So R and I went to explore the area around tiong that's conserved ^^ Along Yong Siak Street where a lot of cafes and cute shops are located!

Walking there :3

Saw a pretty bike and buay paiseh-ly took a photo with it. Teehee

Wasn't in the mood for coffee nor cafes that evening, so off we go - back to tiong bahru plaza for some fastfood!! KFC is my least fav fastfood but was craving for the zinger burger and cheese fries hehe :p

Yay and ice milo ^^ Then we took a straight bus back home from tiong bahru, which was quite a long journey, and we also met an unreasonable auntie on board ._. Nevertheless it was still a really fun day out, beedoo beedoo beedoo
