Monologue

Ice cream for ya? :p

The weather these few days has been horridly warm *sweats buckets* and hence the appropriateness of the above picture of R looking absolutely in love with the coit tower in front of him even before we start eating it. TEEHEE. Ice cream to beat the heat!! This was of course taken at our all-time favourite family restaurant, Swensen's! Approximately two weeks ago, on a friday evening after our long day at school. School has been routinizing our date patterns, for instance friday evenings after R's classes (which ends at 7pm :o), and mondays after our gem lecture together.

Speaking of which, it's another Monday in around 1 hour's time. Week 11 has arrived, fast and furious zoom zoom, and I can't wait for the semester to be over :) Around two more assignments to go for me before finals! Poor R has endless streams of reports and presentation upcoming, hang in there my love (if you're reading this hehe)! I guess the trick of the game is to not lament so much about what's there to do. I've learnt that embracing everything that comes your way makes life a lot more easier. It's just a process that everyone has to get through. For me, I always focus on getting past deadlines, complete assignments one by one and not feel overwhelmed by the massive amount of work in total. Teehee, of course occasional whinings and venting of frustration is absolutely essential in keeping one sane. But NEVER let those negativity get you down.
Why does this sound like a motivational monologue... do not know. HAHA feels like it's all part of reflexivity and understanding myself better :)

Okay here's an extra tip on getting extra energetic boost in times of depression and stress: Look at photos of your loved ones.

Hello dearie! :D R, with cute yoshi wheeeee.

Photos are extremely therapeutic for me ^^ and they always bring back so much happy memories. :) That's the thing about photos right, they almost always only capture the happy moments in our life because people hardly ever get the mood to snap photos if they are mega unhappy etc. But then again, when you are truly having the time of your life, do you really have time to take photos? The happiest moments in your life are hardly captured through photos because you're enjoying the moment in itself. Maybe photos can only capture the afterthought of the happiness that you're experiencing, and when you are taking the photo, you try to reenact the equivalence of happiness you felt, so does the camera only capture staged happiness?

Weird thoughts that go through my mind.
HAHAHA okay bye :)

Birthday Month

I've officially turned 21 on the 7th of this month and I already feel a lot more wiser and mature :3 In fact, I now seem to be bothered by young adults' woes and worries for my future employment possibilities *fears* Haha age has caught up.. Anyway, post on my birthday thoughts already up on my personal blog. So today, I am going to blog about how we spent the day on R's 23rd birthday, which is coincidentally just two days after mine!! :D

I had classes on his birthday, so we could only meet up in the evening. Had early dinner at DTF (our intensity of love for DTF cannot be measured by words...) and we ordered almost the same dishes we always do HAHA staying faithful and loyal to our eggy fried rice, XLBs, and yam buns forever. Also ordered the side dish appetiser and wanton soup this time round - everything was great!

After dinner, we went on a mission to find Yoshi soft toy, to fulfill the wish I've adopted for the CSC Grant a Wish programme :) FUTILE ATTEMPT. More on that the next post perhaps!

Went over to MBS Au Chocolat to grab a birthday cake for R after much hesitations and considerations HAHAHA. We are almost on the verge of developing cake phobia (way too many celebrations the past few days!) But in the end we stuck to our original plan and it's my first visit to Au Chocolat!!

Ordered a tower cake for the birthday boy and it's massive. HEHE Happy birthday love love! Hope you like the mini celebration together with me! :D

Love you sweetheart!

Pure decadence.

Spent the rest of the night snapping photos, and finding people to assist us in our polariods-taking inside and outside MBS, TEEHEE.

Hope you've had a chocolatey birthday and thanks for spending it with me :) Second birthday together, *hugs* and many more to come!

First Anniversary

365 days spent falling in love with each other over and over again

Our happy first anniversary:

On the morning of our anniversary date, I received a loveliest hand bouquet from the sweetest boy

Proceeded to Breko for brunch (a place I'd always wanted to try out), however the food wasn't much to rave about. Still, we had our stomachs filled and was all ready to head to our next destination!

A collage of us and our teeny eyes (the sun was honestly bright that day!) which gives a clue that we're heading to SENTOSA! We've been to Sentosa on several occasions, such as going to the beach, or going to universal studios, but todayyyy we are going to the SEA Aquarium - we've both not been there before:)

Here we go! We expected the Saturday crowd to be present, but we definitely did not foresee that it would be THAT crowded. Please avoid weekends if you can. Nonetheless, we did have lots of fun! Just looking at marine creatures, pointing out fishes here and there hehe

i have taken quite a bit of photos, decided to select a few and did up collages, the SEA aquarium was really beautiful, thanks for bringing me there dearie :)

The jelly fishes are especially gorgeous! :)

Left sentosa around evening and we went over to Vivo for an early dinner @ SUSHI TEIIIII

Sushi Tei for 2, here's what we ordered! Left the restaurant feeling like a king with bloated tummies filled with delicious food :D Highlight of the meal for me was DEFINITELY the matcha nama chocolate ice cream, impossible to resist!!! So so good. And well, actually everything was impossible to resist, super loves the dragon maki roll as well *slurps*

What's an anniversary celebration without a cake? :) Headed over to Costa Coffee and ordered a huge slice of carrot cake for ourselves (even though we were extremely bloated already) HAPPY FIRST YEAR TO US! :D made him tell me silly things like "one impression that you have of me which changed". I have forgotten the exact answer he gave but it was along the line that I became a lot less sweet ._. Must have bullied you too much :B Please forgive meeeee leh.

Self-reflection time: I think over the course of a year I have effectively become a much more demanding and unreasonable girlfriend, but I do hope that you can still feel my immensely deep deep luvv for you :P I won't take you for granted! *promises*

Okay enough of my remorseful confession hehe.

Dearie just informed me that that whole part about bullying him was said by myself (I call this high level of self-awareness). Instead, his answer was that he never knew I was so girly! Now that rings a bell. :b why am I girly? For that I can never understand his logic, but being girly sounds good since that means I'm portraying feminine vibes in accordance with my gender teeheee. :D One thing about R which I appreciate so much -- He NEVER ever criticizes/scold/blame me for anything. He paints me in such an angelic light I feel like there's a halo right above my head :p But of course I'm no where near the holy stage. I merely found a boy who accepts my flaws and sees them in a beautified manner. *blessed with some really good fortune to have found him* #luckygirl *winks*

After our cakey session, dearie sent me home as usual (thanks for sending me back every time sweetheart <3)

& I poured out the contents of the box which R specially prepared for me! 99 hearts all painstakingly and lovingly folded by the sweetest boy on earth, accompanied with strings of photo memories that record our first year journey together ;) Super sweet :')

Love it so much and Love you so much dearie!!
Hooray, we are ONE (& counting)!
:D

will always love you,
xx

Photoload

I'm so glad I've finally survived through week 7 of this semester, all three midterms DOWN. It's typically rare for me to have any mids (more used to doing term papers after term papers usually), but this sem decided to be special and gave me 3 mid terms on 3 consecutive days. But yes it's over and I'm in a pure celebratory mode, plus my birthday is two days awayyyy. Very good timing.

Time for me to flood this space with more iphone snaps!

Somehow, I have a feeling that I eat pontian at least twice a week. Never sick of it! :) Ate this at the holland v food centre, on a day where we had initial plans to eat at D'good - but the crowd and unappealing dinner menu drew us away and yes I suggested pontian!!! :D

R opted for the beef hor fun instead, and it was a huge bowl with lots of beef, very worth the money he says! :)

Left holland V, feeling like it was too early to end the night, and so off to our next destination:

Habitat cafe! One of my favoritest cafe because the cheese cake the serve there is simplyyyy orgasmic. Also tried their tiramisu cake that night and was good too! But team cheesecake teehee.

Order my regular flat white, while R got a hazelnut coffee (very yummy!!)

We have recently also gone MADLY in love with Gongcha milk melon tea and have it approximately twice a week too, oh my gosh. HAHAHA. we're crazy.

The day when R came over just to find me when I was upset :( He's the sweetest ever! We had lots of fun playing at the playground and he really cheered me up hehe.

And this: MCDEE HOTCAKES BREAKFAST. It was during the elearning week when we went cycling (already blogged about it HERE

Katong laksa! On the cycling day too :)

Chicken rice dinner! Also on the cycling day :D

And desserts from honeymoon dessert, also from cycling day! HAHA oh yeh we consumed a lot of food that day.

Some day when I hoped over to R's. My hair looks incredibly ah dai and fat face HEHEH but that's a mcflurry we are holding!! Tried out the new green tea mcflurry teehee.

A day when we decided to head to town at nightttt

Pontian!!! ^^ He equally loves it now.

And then we had rochor tauhuey cravings satisfied :D YAY so silky smooth.

The next day we headed to Somerset again, and this time round for Marche :)

Rosti craving satisfied!!!

After walking for a bit, we got hungry again and so we shared a toriQ bento :D before I headed to my nainai's house for my regular saturday dinner with the extended family!

HEHE this. I'm not sure if it's alright to post this, but since no face shot is visible, I assume that it is legally allowable. There's a really amusing story to these two photos. One day, R and I were chatting on whatsapp while he was heading to school, and he told me that he just saw someone in school wearing PJs and quickly snapped a photo to send to me (photo: left). He's so uncool of course I know that isn't PJs lah. But few hours later when I headed to school, the first girl I see when I walked up the stairs was the same girl R was talking about, so I couldn't resist but also snapped a picture after she has walked past me. HAHA, such coincidence.

Okay back to food, looking at these delicate popiah makes my stomach growl already! Famous clementi popiah!!

Lantern festival day!

Attended AD'13 together! :D

The CCK face :P

I'm so going to Swensen's!! Swensen's is my all-time favourite family restaurant. :D Reminds me of childhood times.

Fooling around with friesss

CHECK THIS OUT, THE ROCK. their newest ice cream collection and I swear it's soooo good:D kind of craving for ice cream right nowww. And i love the smoky effect from those dry ice hahahaha still a kid at heart.

DING DING. here's a magic card that I can use, to make R "cook a meal" for me!! :D

*blings* so here's R shopping for ingredients to whip up a feast for me :D

Tadah! Here's what he cooked. Broccoli, fried eggs with onion (actually I cooked that), and baked bean stew (with lots of chicken, potatoes, and carrots added) Hehehe. It was a great happy meal but I do think we have to increase our efficiency of cooking teehee.

Ate chicken rice together along upp thomson road on one of the nights!

:D

And dessert to end our meal. :) Ice jelly with nata de coco yummy yummy!

Okay that's the end of this long post flooded with images, here's one very beautiful compilation of our europe photos! :) Prelude for the next post on our anniversary teehee.
